Kokka & Backus, PC has open patent attorney positions for candidates seeking an intellectual-property focuses practice environment. We are expanding our practice to service increasing client demand in California, the US, and abroad. Clients include venture-backed startups to Fortune 100 companies.
Responsibilities will include immediate client contact, providing counseling and services to clients performing patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, licensing, intellectual property rights enforcement, infringement analysis, portfolio development, and inventor education and training. In-depth training in substantive practice, client development and management, and international IP counseling are also provided. Above-market salaries, compensation, and benefits are offered.

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution in a law firm preparing and prosecuting patent applications
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Must be admitted to practice in California
Must be a registered patent attorney with the US Patent and
Trademark Office
At least 2 years of technical work experience preferred
Willingness to travel (less than 10% per year)
Strong entrepreneurial zeal and desire to work with other entrepreneurs
