Aon Is Looking For a Retirement Advanced Associate Actuary: Location: Irvine CA Pension and other retirement plans have enormous financial implications for employers. Actuaries within Retirement Consulting work directly with our clients’ management teams to assess the short and long-term costs associated with these commitments. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Retirement Consulting group in our Irvine CA office.Job Responsibilities:Pass actuarial exams (minimal requirement of one course per year)Maintain some, and developing other, relationships with higher-level client contactsAnswer many client questions without reliance on lead actuaryManage various projects simultaneously, with some oversightComplete significant amount of work through others (i.e. delegation)Play active role in client meetingsWork collaboratively with consultants from other lines of businessPrepare contribution requirements and accounting costs, with little or no guidanceInterpret valuation results and provide initial recommendations to lead actuaryReview valuation results and explain outcomes to clientReview pension benefit calculationsTake on significant responsibility and use own initiative to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on timeCoach/train less experienced students Demonstrate flexibility to work additional hours when client needs dictate or take responsibility for finding resources to complete the assignmentManage and meet all deadlines Required Experience:4 years of actuarial work experienceCompletion of numerous actuarial examsAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPointAdvanced knowledge with funding and accounting calculations Preferred Experience:ASA or EA DesignationsValuation programming on ProVal system Education: Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics or similar field How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $93,000-$125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
