Duties:

• Handle patent prosecution matters, including drafting and filing patent applications.
• Provide support in patent litigation, including conducting research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with case preparation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, guiding them through the patent application process and addressing their legal needs.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to strategize on IP matters and litigation approaches.
• Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail while managing multiple cases.
• Assist with post-grant proceedings, including inter-partes reviews and patent reexamination requests.
• Stay updated with developments in patent law, engineering, and technology trends.

Requirements:

• Between 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, including the preparation and filing of patent applications.
• Must have a technical background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field such as physics or mathematics.
• Must be registered with the USPTO and admitted to the State Bar of California.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in intellectual property law beyond patents is a plus.

Education:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Certifications:

• USPTO registration is required.
• Active California Bar membership is required.

Skills:

• Expertise in patent prosecution and litigation processes.
• Knowledge of patent law, including USPTO procedures and patent litigation strategies.
