Job Overview:
A law firm based in Hammond, IN, is looking for a qualified Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This position is ideal for an Indiana-licensed attorney with at least 2 years of relevant defense litigation experience, in the field of insurance coverage. Duties:

• Manage a full litigation caseload independently, from start to finish
• Attend court hearings across multiple counties and courthouses
• Track case files to ensure deadlines are met and all required actions are taken
• Investigate facts and legal matters to determine causes of action
• Research, analyze, and interpret laws, regulations, court rulings, and legal opinions
• Assist in reviewing legal documents and preparing case materials

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Indiana (Illinois license preferred)
• Experience managing a litigation caseload and handling all phases of litigation
• Proven ability to research and analyze complex legal issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience conducting depositions is required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Indiana State Bar (Illinois Bar membership is a plus)
