Duties

• Provide legal advice and transactional assistance to public agencies on general governance, contracting, labor and employment, economic development, housing, CEQA, and land use matters.
• Counsel clients on a broad range of legal issues impacting local agencies.
• Optional involvement in litigation, based on experience and interest.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in municipal law or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to handle diverse legal issues for public agencies.
• High level of motivation, self-sufficiency, and commitment to professional growth.
• Strong research and analytical skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting documents.
• Experience with litigation is a plus, though not required.
