Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm based in Strongsville, OH, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their criminal defense team. This position offers an opportunity to practice in both State and Federal courts, handling cases across northern Ohio. The ideal candidate will be committed to criminal defense, comfortable in court, and eager to contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Duties:

• Represent clients in State and Federal courts
• Attend and manage daily court appearances throughout northern Ohio
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis
• Draft a variety of legal documents, motions, and briefs
• Engage in courtroom litigation, presenting and arguing cases effectively
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and team members
• Participate in collaborative case management and contribute to team efforts

Requirements:

• Active Ohio law license (required)
• Reliable daily transportation for travel within northern Ohio
• Strong courtroom presence and confidence
• Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Ohio State Bar certification

Skills:

• Strong research and legal writing capabilities
• Effective courtroom advocacy and litigation skills
• Collaborative team player with the ability to manage cases independently
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively
